CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team traveled to SUNY Cortland where they battled in a SUNYAC (State University of New York Athletic Conference) matchup that ended up in a scoreless tie on Saturday evening. This tie is the Knight's fifth of the season, and it moves Geneseo's overall record to 5-2-5 and 1-0-4 in SUNYAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Knights recorded the first shot on goal just 12 seconds into the game. Graduate Student Lindsay Wright blasted a shot from outside of the box that was saved by the Cortland goalkeeper.
- Geneseo senior forward Liv Raucci rang the post in the 73rd minute on a one-timed attempt from the edge of Cortland's box, coming inches away from giving the Knights the lead.
- SUNY Geneseo's Juliette Frischmann narrowly stole the victory for the Knights in the 84th on a breakaway that was put wide of the Cortland goalkeeper and past the net.
- Both teams' defense outlasted the other teams' offense, resulting in a final score of Geneseo 0, Cortland 0.
