OSWEGO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer team faced off against the Oswego Lakers on Wednesday night. The matchup ended in a 1-1 draw, the Knight's sixth tie of the year, as their record now sits at 5-2-6 overall and 1-0-5 in SUNYAC play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights' offense remained in control for much of the first half as they recorded eight shots, with their first coming within the first five minutes of action.
- Geneseo also led in corner kicks in the first half as they tallied four while holding the Lakers to only two.
- Coming out of the break, the Knights' offense continued their dominant streak as they recorded another seven shots in the second half.
- After the half, the Knights struck first in the 53rd minute as junior midfielder Lindsey Matthews found senior forward Liv Raucci with a pass that led to a goal and gave the team a 1-0 lead.
- Oswego came back to tie the game by taking advantage of a penalty kick opportunity for a goal in the 70th minute.
- Neither team was able to put up a shot in the final ten minutes as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
- Junior goalkeeper Mollie Collins played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded two saves against the Lakers.
