Men's Soccer Falls at Brockport, 2-0

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team fell on the road 2-0 to SUNY Brockport Wednesday night. Geneseo's record is now 7-6-3 and 3-4-1 in SUNYAC (State University of New York Athletic Conference) play. The Knights will now look to pick up an important win in Plattsburgh on Saturday in their conference finale.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Geneseo recorded the game's first shot attempt on net in the ninth minute of play. Graduate Student Tyler Lewandowski fired a shot that was saved by the Brockport goaltender.
  •  In the 12th minute, the Golden Eagles would score the first goal of the game when their forward found the back of the net off a cross into the box.
  • The Knights went into half down a goal despite outshooting Brockport nine to four.
  • Benjamin Sanchez came inches away from tying the game in the 74th minute for Knights. The Geneseo defender's shot blasted the ball off the goalpost and stayed out of the net.
  • The Golden Eagles put the game out of reach with a headed goal in the 81st minute, making the final score Brockport 2, Geneseo 0.
