- Geneseo defender Benjamin Sanchez scored the only goal of the game in the 66th minute on a headed in goal assisted by Vasion Sinjari. The Knights took a short corner kick that was then crossed in by Sinjari that found Sanchez's head and was put into the back of the net.
- Geneseo's defense held strong for the rest of the contest, shutting down the Cardinals. The Knights needed a tie or a win to get into the playoffs and stellar defense helped solidify their spot in the SUNYAC playoffs.
