GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo field hockey team added a win into the SUNYAC column against the Oneonta Red Dragons at home today. The Knights record improves to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in conference action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo got off to an early start with Ada Roe scoring in the first three minutes of action.
- Outstanding defense by the Knights held the Red Dragons to 0 shots in the first quarter.
- Katrina Clare added a goal for the Knights early in the second quarter, while Geneseo's defense continued to cause trouble for Oneonta, who scored on their only shot in the second quarter.
- Hanna Pochobradsky added a goal late in the second on a penalty stroke, allowing the Knights to hold a 3-1 lead heading into the second half.
- Ada Roe scored under a minute into the third quarter to give the Knights a convincing lead for the remainder of the game.
- An impressive save by Sarah Quinlan on a penalty stroke allowed for the Knights to hang on to their 4-1 lead going into the final quarter.
- Sarah Quinlan saved another shot by doing the splits in the fourth quarter, securing the win for the Knights as they take down the Red Dragons
