Women's Basketball Dominates The Lakers For Third-Straight Double-Digit Victory

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team picked up its third-consecutive double-digit victory on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Oswego, 73-52. The 21-point win moved the Knights to 9-3 on the season and 4-1 in conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights dominated the opening minutes of the game, going ahead 15-0 in the first five minutes. Senior guard Hannah Stockman got the scoring started by draining a three on the first possession, then converting a layup after getting a steal on Oswego's first look.
  • Geneseo continued its dominance into the second quarter, putting up 25 points to make it a 45-28 lead going into the second half.
  • The Knights went on to close out the win by scoring 28 points in the second half and holding the Lakers to just 24.

QUICK FACTS
  • Hannah Stockman led the Knights scoring with 21 points 72.7 percent shooting from the field. Senior forward Lauren Romito put up her second-straight double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Kiley Snow also reached double-digits with 15.
  • The Knights were dominant on both ends of the floor, shooting 49 percent from the field and holding Oswego to 32 percent.
  • Geneseo has now won 18-straight games over the Lakers, dating back to February of 2013.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Knights will return home on Jan. 13 and 14 to host Oneonta and New Paltz.
