Women's Basketball Drops SUNYAC Matchup To Oneonta, 63-52

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team couldn't ride its hot start to a win over visiting Oneonta on Friday night as they fell, 63-52, to the Red Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Geneseo jumped ahead 13-4 after the first 10 minutes of the game, propelled by strong defense and a pair of baskets from junior forward Kerry Dennin in the final minute of the quarter.
  • The Knights extended its lead to as many as 12 points after a three point shot from senior guard Hannah Stockman, but the Red Dragons were able to find their rhythm and closed out the first half on a 17-5 run.
  • Geneseo couldn't find a way to regain the momentum in the second half, and ended up falling by a score of 63-52 to make their record 9-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play.

QUICK FACTS
  • Stockman tallied a team-high 15 points, while Lauren Romito and Kiley Snow each chipped in double digits with 11 and 10, respectively.
  • Dennin recorded a team-high nine rebounds, and Taylor Hansen added four assists.
