GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's ice hockey team couldn't make it back-to-back wins against SUNY Canton on Saturday evening, as they fell to the Roos 2-1 at Ira S. Wilson Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Canton got on the board in the first period off a power play in the 8th minute of action. The Knights went on to control most of the action for the remainder of the period, registering 11 shots, but couldn't get on the scoreboard.
• Geneseo's defense was dominant in the second period, holding the Roos to just two shots on goal over the 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the Knights still couldn't find the back of the net and went into the third period trailing by one goal.
• Sophomore forward Peter Morgan tied the game for Geneseo early in the third period, deflecting a shot from Nathan Poolman past the goalkeeper. Canton responded with their second goal of the game near the 10 minute mark, and held onto the one goal lead for the remainder of the game.

QUICK FACTS

• Morgan tallied his team-leading 11th goal of the season, while Poolman notched his third assist.
• Senior goalkeeper Matt Petizian recorded 14 saves.
