Men's Basketball Falls Short At Brockport, 62-61

BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't pull out a hard-fought game at Brockport on Friday evening, as they fell to the Golden Eagles, 62-61.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The game opened up as a back-and-forth contest, with the lead changing seven times in the first 10 minutes. The Knights took the first big advantage of the game, as a pair fo three-point shots from Ethan St. Lucia and Michael Gentile helped give Geneseo a 29-21 lead with eight minutes remaining in the half.
  • Brockport bounced back with an 11-point run to take the lead, and held on to it for the remainder of the half as they led 45-37 at the break.
  • The Knights came out strong in the second half, and quickly cut the deficit to three points after a Cole Kattan jumper just over minutes into the action made the score 47-50.
  • Geneseo's defense continued to stifle Brockport throughout the second half, and they were able to make it a one-point game at 62-61 off a basket from Sebastian Pacheco with 2:35 remaining in the game. Unfortunately, the Knights weren't able to capitalize on their strong second half and ultimately fell 62-61.
