ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's track and field team traveled to Nazareth on Saturday for the Conference Challenge Cup and left with a first-place finish.
Geneseo took three of the top four spots in the 5000m, with
William Hall taking first place with a time of 15:03.24 and a regional qualifying time. The Knights also took three of the top four spots in the 3000m, with
Ezra Ruggles,
Nicky Andrews, and
Nick Bauman placing second through fourth, respectively.
In the 400m,
John Goldszer registered a regional qualifying time in third place at 50.87.
Bryan Jacobs and
Brendan Style both earned regional qualifying times in the 60m hurdles by finishing just .02 seconds a part from each other. In the distance medley relay, the Knights got the top spot behind the team of
Dillon McClary,
Frank Bubbico,
Dawson Tooker, and
Alex Hillyard. The Knights also took the top spot in the 4x400 relay behind
Jason Rappazzo,
John Goldszer,
Lance Jensen, and
Kieran Sheridan who got a meet record with a time of 3:18.59.
One of the Knights strongest performances of the meet came in the 800m, as they took the top eight spots.
Joshua Goldberg took first place at 1:56.68, and the top seven finishers got regional qualifying times.
Lance Jensen finished second for Geneseo in the 200m, finishing with a time of 22.27 for a regional qualifying time.
Byran Jacobs took second in the long jump, while
Sean Stewart got third in the triple jump and the high jump for the field events.
