GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team defeated Oswego by a double-digit margin for the second time this season, knocking off the Lakers by a score of 62-34 on Tuesday night in Schrader Gym. The win improved the Knights to 12-5 overall and 7-3 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights were dominant on both ends of the floor to start the game, as they led 19-4 following the first quarter. Kerry Dennin capped off the impressive quarter by converting a put back layup as time expired
- The Lakers were able to bounce back in the second quarter, and make it a close contest heading to halftime with a score of 27-22.
- Geneseo was able to regain the momentum early in the second half, as their defense returned to form and held Oswego to just four points in a quarter for the second time. The Knights won the second half by a score of 35-12 to secure the dominant SUNYAC victory.
QUICK FACTS
- Dennin recorded her third-straight double-double for the Knights, tallying 17 points and 15 rebounds, both game-highs.
- Lauren Romito also finished with a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Mackenzie Reigle also reached double digit points with 10.
- Geneseo has now won 19-straight games against the Lakers.
