Strong First Half Propels Men's Basketball to 64-58 Victory Over Potsdam

POTSDAM, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team rode a dominant first half performance to a 64-58 win over Potsdam on Friday evening. The win improved the Knights to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in SUNYAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Harrison Dignan opened up the game for the Knights with a three-pointer off an offensive rebound from Kevin Ranaghan, and the Knights never trailed again in the game. The Knights quickly extended their lead to six points, six minutes in to the action after another basket from Dignan.
  • Back-to-back three's from Kip Dallaris and Cole Kattan gave Geneseo its first double-digit lead with over 11 minutes remaining in the half. Kattan then put the finishing touches on a dominant performance on both ends of the court for Geneseo by draining a three with under a minute to play to make it a 16 point lead heading to halftime.
  • The Bears came roaring back in the second half, but the deficit was too much to overcome behind strong defense from Geneseo. The Knights never let the game get within one possession as they held on for the 64-58 victory in Potsdam.

QUICK FACTS
  • Geneseo had four players reach double digit points: Kattan (14), Raymond Grabowski (13), Drew Morrow (12), and Dallaris (11).
  • Dallaris and Dignan were both close to double-double's, with Dallaris tallying a team-high eight rebounds and Dignan reaching nine assists.
