GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's Soccer team honored its 11-member class of 2023 prior to their game, but ended up falling to visiting Plattsburgh, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon at College Stadium. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights and Cardinals played through a scoreless first half, despite Geneseo outshooting Plattsburgh 3-2, including a pair of shots on goal. 
• In the 47th minute, Plattsburgh broke through on a transition goal, a flicked header to a waiting forward who slotted a shot just inside the far post to make it 1-0 just after halftime. 
• Geneseo pressed for an equalizer, putting on four second half shots, including four shots on goal.
• Plattsburgh took advantage of the Knights throwing numbers forward and scored again on a quick counter to make it 2-0. 

QUICK FACTS 

• The Knights honored 11 seniors in a pre-game ceremony: Will Price, Owen Frank, Luke Bloom, Justin Arilotta, Liam Mulderig, Tyler Lewandowski, Adam Astarita, James Perrone, Eren Aydin, Cameron Houser and Matt Volz. 
• Geneseo outshot Plattsburgh, 13-9, placing six shots on goal and earned six corner kicks while holding the Cardinals to just two.

Geneseo (6-3-0, 0-1-0 SUNYAC) will travel to face Fredonia on Wednesday afternoon in another SUNYAC matchup.
