Sam Lewis each scored as the Knights shut out host Marywood, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in Scranton.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights took the lead in the seventh minute of play when senior forward Maggie Phipps sent a pass to the back post where Sam Lewis swept it into the back of the cage, giving the Knights a 1-0 advantage.
- Geneseo held onto its slim lead despite outshooting the Pacers, 13-6, and earning six penalty corners while holding Marywood to just one.
- In the 50th minute, sophomore forward Emma Fon added onto the Knights' tally, providing an important insurance goal in the fourth quarter.
- Senior goalkeeper Sarah Quinlan and the Knights' defense held the Pacers scoreless to earn a third-consecutive shutout.
