CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't pull out the win on Friday night at Cortland to reach the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoffs. The Knights couldn't bounce back from an eight-point deficit at halftime and fell 74-66.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights got off to a hot start from behind the arc as they first 18 points come on three-point shots, including two from sophomore guard Ethan St. Lucia and two from graduate guard Terrance Nichols.
• Despite the strong start from deep, the Red Dragons were able to keep up with the Geneseo offense had the game tied at 18-18 just over six minutes into the action. Cortland went on to lead by as many as 14 points in the first half, but a three from junior forward Raymond Grabowski right before half helped the Knights enter the second half only down eight points.
• Both teams improved defensively in the second half with only 50 combined points, but the Knights were never able to pull the game within one possession and went on to fall 74-66.

QUICK FACTS

• Senior forward Michael Gannon led the team with 15 points, while sophomore guard Cole Kattan chipped in 14 points on 5-5 shooting from the field. Junior guard Harrison Dignan and St. Lucia also reached double-digits with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
• Kattan added a team-high eight rebounds, while Dignan posted a team-best six assists.
• Geneseo finished .500 in SUNYAC play for the first time since the 2017-18 season, where they finished 11-7 in conference action.
