ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's Track & Field team competed at the Nazareth Alumni Opener, its final event of the fall semester.
Kieran Sheridan, the defending national champion in the 400, started his indoor season with a strong showing in the event, crossing in first with a time of 48.44 (just 0.06 seconds slower than his national championship winning time a year ago). Sheridan went on to team with
Lance Jensen,
John Goldszer and
Jacob Miller in the 4x400, finishing first in 3:18.20. Jensen earned a first-place finish in the 300, crossing in 35.38, while
Frank Bubbico took first in the 1,000, running in 2:34.10.
Ryan Mitchell earned a win and a regional qualifying mark in the 3,000 placing first with a time of 8:39.73. The Knights combined to win five events and had athletes place within the top three in eight different events.
Geneseo will break for the holiday and return to action on Saturday, January 28 when they compete in the Conference Challenge Cup, also hosted by Nazareth.
