BUFFALO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Women's Basketball team locked down host Medaille on defense to earn a 56-43 victory on Wednesday night in Buffalo.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo held Medaille to just 3-for-17 (17.7%) shooting in the first quarter as the Knights built up a lead. Junior guard Kiley Snow hit a game-opening layup and added a three-pointer to build a 7-0 lead to begin the game. Senior guard Taylor Hansen drilled a three just before the buzzer to give the Knights a 19-6 lead at the end of the first.
- Medaille battled back in the second quarter, drawing to within five points, 25-20, but senior guard Hannah Stockman knocked down a three-pointer to give the Knights a 28-20 advantage heading into the halftime break.
- In the third quarter, Geneseo outscored Medaille, 15-12, using good ball movement and fluid offense to score all of its third-quarter points from layups and foul shotsm taking a 43-32 lead into the fourth.
- Geneseo led by as many as 17 points and never allowed the Mavericks within single-digits the rest of the way as they finished off the victory.

- Senior forward Lauren Romito tallied her second-consecutive double-double and her third in four games, finishing with a team-high 17 points and 13 rebounds.
- Snow added 14 points, including 3-for-6 shooting from long distance, adding three steals and two blocks. Kerry Dennin scored six points and secured 10 rebounds while Taylor Hansen led the way with five assists.
- The Knights held the Mavericks to 16-for-51 (31.4%) shooting from the floor, improving to 5-0 when they hold opponents to 35.0% shooting or less.

Geneseo (5-2, 2-1 SUNYAC) will finish its fall semester with a visit to Geneva, N.Y. to face William Smith at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.
