Men's Basketball Rides Hot Start To 68-58 Victory Over Buffalo St.

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team picked up a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) victory on Friday evening, as they took down Buffalo St. in Schrader Gym, 68-58. The Knights improved to 4-3 (1-1 SUNYAC) on the season, while Buffalo St. dropped to 1-3 (0-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Geneseo had a dominant start to the game, going up 9-2 in the first three and a half minutes behind a pair of baskets from senior guard Raymond Grabowski. The Knights continued to stay hot on offense, going up by 12 points at 25-13 with just under 11 minutes left in the half.
  • First-year forward Chris Davis kept the momentum going late in the first half with a dunk off an assist from Harrison Dignan. The Knights led by as much as 23 and ended up taking a 47-28 advantage into the second half.
  • The Bengals began to chip away at the Knights lead in the second half, and had the lead down to just seven points with 7:30 remaining in the game. However, Geneseo's defense turned it up and only allowed six points from Buffalo St. the rest of the way and pulled out the 68-58 victory.

  • Grabowski led the offensive effort with 19 points, while Sebastian Pacheco chipped in 18 points and six rebounds.
  • Dignan filled the stat sheet for the Knights, tallying nine assists, eight points, seven rebounds, and four steals.
