Men's Basketball Knocked Off By St. Lawrence, 85-70

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't close out their first semester of action on a high note, as they fell to St. Lawrence on Saturday afternoon, 85-70.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights got off to a sluggish start, with senior forward Kevin Ranaghan converting Geneseo's first field goal of the game at the 15:30 mark. Geneseo then started to find a rhythm on offense, going on a 9-3 run to take a 14-11 advantage.
  • Cole Kattan and Kip Dallaris helped the Knights stay within striking distance in the first half, scoring on back-to-back possessions to cut the Saints lead to 25-21 with just over five minutes left to play.
  • St. Lawrence stifled Geneseo's offense down the stretch in the first half, going on a 15-0 run at one point and took a 42-25 lead into the locker rooms.
  • The Knights tried to chip away at the Saints lead in the second half, but could never close the gap to single digits and ultimately fell 85-70.

QUICK FACTS
  • Raymond Grabowski led the Knights in scoring with 19 points on 8-16 shooting from the field. Michael Gentile and Cole Kattan also recorded double digits, tallying 13 and 11 points, respectively.
  • Geneseo dominated the offensive boards, recording 19 offensive rebounds compared to just seven from the Saints.
  • Harrison Dignan led the game with a season-high 11 assists.
