GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo Men's Basketball team faced Medaille University at home on Tuesday night at Schrader Gymnasium, and took down the visiting Mavericks, 70-61.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Knights jumped out to an early 10-3 lead as senior guard Raymond Grabowski completed a fast break layup after a steal by Sebastian Pacheco. Geneseo went 8-10 on free throws in the first half, putting them ahead 29-22 with 4:05 left in the frame.
  • The Mavericks outscored the Knights 12-4 to end the half, taking their first lead of the game with 1:50 left. Medaille held on and took a 34-33 lead into the first break.
  • Geneseo came out strong in the second half, with Pacheco hitting a turnaround jumper before stealing the ball on the following possession, which led to a layup by senior guard Harrison Dignan at the 19:22 mark. A put-back layup by freshman forward Andrew Morrow and a corner three from Grabowski extended the Knights' advantage to five with 11:47 left in the game.
  • The teams continued to go back and forth, with a turnaround jumper from junior guard Cole Kattan keeping Geneseo ahead halfway through the second period.
  • Medaille took control late, but the Knights were able to retake the lead following corner threes from Grabowski and Dignan with just under three minutes left. A layup by Morrow added to Geneseo's five-point margin before free throws sealed the game for the Knights.
