Men's Soccer Comes Up Short At Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team traveled to Cortland on Saturday afternoon and couldn't pull out the tough road victory and fell by a score of 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Geneseo held the upper hand for the majority of the first half, out-shooting the Red Dragons 7-2 in the frame. However, a penalty kick goal from Cortland in the 34th minute gave them the 1-0 lead heading to halftime.
  • The Knights continued to try and put the pressure on Cortland in the second half, with shots from Tyler Lewandowski and Liam Mulderig unable to sneak past the goalkeeper.
  • The Red Dragons were able to add on to their lead in the 88th minute with a man-up advantage, and went on to secure the 2-0 victory.

QUICK FACTS
  • Vincent Maronski Jr. got the start in goal and tallied four saves over the 90 minutes of action.
  • Lewandowski led the offensive effort with four shots, while Mulderig and Joe Vogt also recorded a shot on goal.
