ONEONTA, N.Y. - Senior forward
Jenna Piotrowski rattled the cage with just 14 seconds remaining in the game to lead the Knights past host Oneonta,1-0, on Saturday afternoon in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo and Oneonta played through a scoreless first half despite the Knights outshooting the Red Dragons, 12-1, in the first half. The Red Dragons earned a pair of penalty corners in the first period, but senior goalkeeper Sarah Quinlan and the Geneseo defense were up to task, keeping the game scoreless.
- The Knights continued to pound the Oneonta goalkeeper with shots, outshooting the hosts, 9-0, in the second half.
- In the final seconds, senior forward Sydney Carnival fired a shot toward the goal, putting the ball on the pads of the goalkeeper. Piotrowski followed the rebound, slapping the ball into the back of the cage to give the Knights the game-winner with just 14 seconds to play.
QUICK FACTS
