GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team almost came out of Schrader Gymnasium with a top-25 upset as they nearly defeated No. 22 Oswego on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Knights came out firing offensively as three's from junior forward Raymond Grabowski, junior guard Harrison Dignan, and graduate guard Terrance Nichols helped Geneseo take an 11-0 lead in the first three minutes of action.
• Following the halfway mark of the first half, back-to-back layups from first-year guard Sebastian Pacheco kept the Knights advantage at 10 points with a 30-20 lead.
• The Lakers were able to battle their way back into the game, but a layup from Cole Kattan with five seconds left in the first half gave Geneseo a two-point lead at 38-36 heading into the locker rooms.
• Geneseo was able to maintain a lead through the first nine minutes of play in the second half, but then the Lakers were able to take control of the game in the final minutes of play. Solid free throw shooting down the stretch for Oswego sealed their victory and kept the Knights comeback hopes at bay.

QUICK FACTS

• Nichols led the Knights in scoring and dropped a season-high 24 points on 8-10 shooting from the field.
• Dignan chipped in nine points, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals in the loss, while senior forward Michael Gannon tallied 11 points.
• Geneseo struggled on the glass in the game, giving up 16 offensive rebounds to the Lakers and 23 second-chance points.
