Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't come up with the season sweep of New Paltz on Saturday afternoon as they fell at New Paltz, 84-54.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams struggled to score early on, with the score knotted at 4-4 over four minutes into the action. The Hawks offense found its rhythm soon after though and took an 11-point lead at the halfway mark of the first half.
- The Knights trailed by as many as 15 points in the first half, but a basket from junior forward Raymond Grabowski with three minutes left cut the advantage to 10. New Paltz went on to take a 12-point lead to halftime.
- Geneseo couldn't get its offense going early in the second half and quickly found themselves facing a 20-point deficit. The Hawks continued to keep the pressure on and went to avenge their loss from earlier this season with an 84-54 win.
QUICK FACTS
- Senior forward Michael Gannon led the offense for Geneseo with 10 points. He was also the leading rebounder with nine.
- Geneseo currently sits at third in the SUNYAC standings with a 6-3 record in conference play.
