Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo defenseman Chris Perna netted his first goal of the season early in the third period, lifting the Knights to a 3-2 victory over host Nazareth on Tuesday night at Bill Gray's Iceplex in Rochester.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo opened the scoring just 1:49 into the game as senior forward Henry Cleghorn tallied his fourth goal of the season to make it 1-0. Senior forward Levi Wunder and first-year forward Peter Morgan registered assists on the play.
- The Knights had a pair of first-period power play chances, but could not extend the lead and skated into the first intermission leading 1-0.
- Midway through the second period, Nazareth tied the game, 1-1, but senior forward Dan Bosio scored to put the Knights back on top just under two minutes later.
- With 14:00 to play in the third period, Perna netted his first goal of the season to put the Knights ahead, 3-1. Nazareth drew back to within one goal with a score at at 17:52 mark, but the Knights salted the rest of the clock away to hold on for the one-goal win.
QUICK FACTS
- The Knights earned their second victory over the season over the Golden Flyers. Geneseo defeated Nazareth, 7-1, on October 30 at Ira S. Wilson Arena.
- Bosio scored his ninth goal of the season, tallying a score in his second-consecutive game. Junior defenseman Nicolas Elia earned an assist on the Bosio goal, his second of the season.
- Junior goaltender Matt Petizian finished with 19 saves as the Knights outshot the hosts, 25-21.
