Box Score BUFFALO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Michael Gannon contributed 20 points, including 15 points in the second half, to lead the Knights past host Buffalo State, 79-76, in SUNYAC action, Tuesday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Senior forward Sean Crowley scored the Knights' first five points, erasing an early 5-0 deficit with a layup at the 16:32 mark to even the score.
- First-year guard Harrison Dignan drained his second three-pointer of the half at the 6:03 mark, leveling the score, 21-21. First-year guard Aaron Davis netted a pair of buckets in the final three minutes of the half as the Knights trailed at the break, 36-33.
- The Knights claimed their first lead of the second half, 47-46, at the 13:15 mark when Dignan finished a left-handed driving layup.
- Sophomore forward Michael Gannon netted a three-pointer to give Geneseo its largest lead of the game, 66-57, with 5:37 remaining. The Knights led, 78-76, with five seconds remaining when Dignan drew a charge in the lane, forcing a Bengals turnover. Geneseo escaped with the victory, 79-76.
QUICK FACTS:
- Junior forward Alex Merhige and Davis each finished with 13 points, while Dignan contributed 12 points as the Knights had four different players finish in double figures in scoring.
- Senior guard Terence Rogers shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, netting a season-high eight points.
