Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Michael Gannon contributed 12 points and a team-high seven rebounds, but it was host Oswego claiming a SUNYAC victory, 64-42, Friday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior forward Alex Merhige blocked an Oswego driving layup attempt to set up a jumper from junior forward Joseph Harclerode to tie the game, 5-5, at the 13:29 mark.
- Merhige converted a right-handed layup with 6:39 remaining in the first half to level the score, 14-14, capping a 7-0 scoring run from the Knights. Gannon connected on a time-expiring jumper to close out the first half of play, trimming Geneseo's halftime deficit to 27-20.
- Merhige hammered down a baseline dunk to cut the Knights' deficit to 35-24 at the 16:45 mark in the second half, silencing an 8-0 scoring run from the Lakers.
- Sophomore guard Elijah Wingfield notched his third assist of the game with 5:33 remaining in the game, finding Gannon on a jumper to make it a 57-39 advantage in favor of Oswego. The Lakers held on to their lead, winning the contest, 64-42.
