Men's Basketball Falls to Visiting Potsdam on Senior Day

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore forward Michael Gannon tallied a game-high 18 points and snagged seven rebounds in a loss to visiting Potsdam, 68-59, on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gannon scored back to back jump shots with 14 minutes left in the half while senior forward Sean Crowley added five first half points.
  • The Bears closed out the period with a buzzer-beating three-pointer and headed into the halftime break with a lead, 38-24.
  • Early into the second half junior forward Alex Mehrige drove through a crowded lane and finished with an emphatic two-handed dunk, as the Knights cut the lead to 10 points with four minutes left.
  • In the final minutes, Merhige finished off a put-back slam, but Potsdam finished with a nine-point victory.

QUICK FACTS

  • Michael Gannon recorded his fifth-straight double-digit scoring game while Merhige finished with 16 points, five rebounds and five assists.
  • Geneseo was held without a made three-point attempt, going 0-for-11 from beyond the arc. 
  • The Knights honored senior guard Terence Rogers and senior forward Sean Crowley in a pre-game ceremony.
