Carey netted eight of the Knights' 13 points as Geneseo (3-3, 1-1 SUNYAC) jumped out to a 13-7 lead in the first 3:22, but New Paltz gained control with a 18-0 run to make it 25-13 with 8:50 to go in the first half.

A layup by first-year Alex Merhige cut the lead to four point, 52-48, with 10:21 remaining, but that was as close as Geneseo would draw as New Paltz ended the contest on a 21-12 run to earn the victory.
