Men's Basketball Clipped By Cortland, 80-69

CORTLAND, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's Basketball team led at halftime, but a second-half surge by Cortland put the Red Dragons in front and gave them the win.

Senior forward Justin Ringen and senior guard John Decker each netted a team-high 20 points. First-year forward Tommy Eastman scored 10 points on 5-for-7 shooting from off the bench as well. 

Geneseo shot 62.4% from the floor in the first half, going 15-for-24 on field goal attempts. Eastman tallied all 10 of his points in the first half, going a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor. The Knights drained five three-pointers on their way to a 41-35 advantage at the halftime break.

In the second half, Geneseo began the period on a 12-2 run to gain a 53-37 lead with 15:11 remaining. The Red Dragons battled back with a 29-11 run of their own and took a 66-64 lead with 5:35 left in the game. With 3:04 remaining, Ringen drained a three to make it a one-point game, but it was the last scoring the Knights could muster on the night. Cortland went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final minute to clinch the victory over the visitors.

Geneseo moves to 12-7 on the season, with a 7-5 mark in the SUNYAC. The team will look to bounce back with a contest against Oswego on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
