Box Score GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior guard Justin Ringen scored a game-high 26 points to lead the Knights to a 79-74 comeback victory at Oneonta in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's basketball action, Saturday.
Trailing by as many as 13 in the first half, Geneseo used a 19-7 run, including seven points by Ringen, to turn a 42-32 deficit with 18:25 left in the second half into a 51-49 lead with 12:20 remaining.
Oneonta re-took a brief 52-51 edge at 11:53, but three-pointers on back-to-back possessions by junior guard Jonathan Cohen gave the visitors a 57-54 lead it would not relinquish.
Oneonta out-rebounded the Knights, 43-26, but the Knights shot 51.0 percent from the field, including 40 percent (10-25) from long range, and hit 19-of-23 free-throw opportunities to seal the win.
Sophomore guard Kevin Crockett scored 13 points off the bench, including a three-pointer with 30 seconds left in regulation that helped fend off a late Red Dragon surge. Junior guard John Decker collected 12 points while senior guard Connor Keenan added 10 points in the win.
Geneseo finishes the road portion of its regular-season slate on Tuesday with a trip to Oswego for a 7:00 p.m. tip-off with the Lakers.
