Men's Soccer Wins 2-1 At PSU-Behrend

Box Score

ERIE, Pa. – SUNY Geneseo senior midfielder Jaisen Clark recorded the game-winning goal and added an assist to lead the Knights over host PSU-Behrend, 2-1, in the championship game of the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament, Sunday afternoon.

"I am very happy with how the team played this weekend," said head coach Dominic Oliveri. "We were behind for the first time this season but we handled it extremely well and took the game over from there. We were pressing a lot and eventually were able to knock one home to tie the game. Our bench also helped us immensely today."

In the 10th minute of play, Lions sophomore forward Matt Dziadosz scored on a diving header off an assist from junior forward Anthony Crivelli to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. In the 27th minute, junior midfielder Matt D'Amico tied the game on a header off a cross from Clark as Geneseo entered halftime with a 4-3 edge in shots.

In the 63rd minute, Clark tallied the go-ahead goal after collecting a pass from sophomore midfielder Reidis Lata, taking a touch in the box and scoring a low shot past PSU-Behrend's keeper.

The Knights (3-0) outshot the Lions (1-1), 9-8, and held them to only two shots on goal.

Geneseo returns to action this Friday, Sept. 11, with a match-up at Clarkson scheduled for 4 p.m.
