GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team earned three All-Region honors from United Soccer Coaches with
Dylan Thody leading the way on First-Team,
Michael Ruggiero picking up Second-Team honors, and
Eric Famularo earning Third-Team recognition.
Thody, who was also named the Empire 8 Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year and the Championship Most Outstanding Player, capped off his stellar senior campaign with 41 points on 16 goals and nine assists. He excelled in league play, recording 24 points on nine goals and six assists in 11 contests. Thody scored both goals, including the overtime game-winner to lift SUNY Geneseo to the Empire 8 Men's Soccer Championship on Nov. 8, and he scored the Knights goal in the NCAA Tournament First Round against Middlebury.
Ruggiero was a key factor in the Knights success out of the midfield this season, tallying 10 goals and seven assists this year. Ruggiero was named First-Team All-Conference, as well as Famularo who was dominant in the Knights defensive effort while also picking up two goals and an assist.
