Box Score ASTON, Pa. - Third-period goals by SUNY Geneseo sophomore forwards Stephen Collins and Devon Rice during a 1:18 span broke open a 1-1 game with under four minutes to play in regulation as the Knights earned a 4-1 victory at Neumann, Thursday.
Senior goalie Nick Horrigan was credited with 38 saves to preserve the victory.
Following a scoreless first period, junior forward David Ripple got the Knights on the board with a power play goal with 8:09 left in the in the second as Geneseo lead, 1-0, after 40 minutes of play.
Neumann tied the game on a goal by Mike Davis with 14:05 on the third-period clock before the Knights put together their decisive flurry nearly 10 minutes later. Collins scored what proved to be the game-winning tally at the 4:33 mark before Rice, who was making his first appearance of the season, found the net at 3:25 to make it a 3-1 lead for the visitors.
Senior forward Ryan Stanimir tacked on an empty-net goal with 22 second left to finish the scoring.
The two teams will face-off again on Saturday at Wilson Ice Arena at 7:00 p.m.
