Box Score OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore outside hitter Tricia Baxley totaled a match-high eight kills while first-year libero Kathleen Irwin scored nine service aces to lead the Knights to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) over Plattsburgh in their State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Pool Play action, hosted by Oswego.
"A strong effort like this is exactly what we were looking for to start the first weekend of conference play," said head coach Jen Salmon. "We worked on aggressive serving and blocking to prepare ourselves and it really showed tonight."
Junior middle blocker Paige Pendleton added seven blocks while sophomore defensive specialist Dani Sayler chipped in 13 digs to the winning effort. Junior outside hitter Lizzy Morton also notched 11 digs in the win.
Geneseo (14-2, 1-0 SUNYAC) continues conference play on Saturday, facing Brockport at 10:00 a.m. and Buffalo State at 3:00 p.m. at Oswego.
