Box Score ASHTON, Pa. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Ryan Stanimir had two goals and an assist as No. 13/14 Geneseo went on to beat Neumann for the second consecutive night, 4-1.
The Knights scored the only goal of the first period as junior forward Zach Martin found the net in the 17th minute of play. Neumann evened the score with the only tally of the second period off a goal by Dan McDougall with 46 seconds remaining. Despite taking 13 shots, Geneseo was unable to find the back of the net in the second twenty minutes of play.
After the first five minutes of the third period, Stanimir scored his first of two goals. Two minutes later, senior forward Jonathan Sucese scored his lone goal of the night to give Geneseo a 3-1 lead. Then as regulation came to a close, Stanimir found the empty net for his second goal thanks to assists from sophomore defensemen Nate Brown and Matt Solomon.
Brown had two points on the night as he earned an assist off Martin's goal in the first.
Sophomore goalie Nick Horrigan stopped 23 shots on the night to preserve his fourth win of the season.
The Knights have a week off until they take on Hamilton at the Clinton Arena January, 24.
