GENESEO, NY— SUNY Geneseo sophomore Marylen Santos was victorious at number-one singles and teamed with junior Amanda Rosati to earn victory at number-one doubles to lead the Knights to a 9-0 sweep of Fredonia, Wednesday afternoon.
Santos didn't drop a set all afternoon, shutting out Alison Phillips, 6-0, 6-0, in singles play after registering an 8-0 shutout with Rosati in double action.
Junior Dexuan Yuan won at number-two singles and paired with twin sister Minxuan Yuan to win number-two doubles. First-years Karli Hollins and Maggie Hale won at number-three doubles, before taking decisions at fourth and fifth singles, respectively, to also pick up two wins apiece..
The Knights look to finish undefeated in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, hosting Cortland this Friday (Sept.20) in their final league match of the season. The match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
