Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Tyler Brickler scored two goals and senior Zachary Vit tallied a goal in his fifth-straight game to lead the Knights to a 3-2 victory over Nazareth College, Sunday. The contest was held outdoors as part of the "Frozen Frontier" in Rochester, N.Y. at Frontier Field.
Following a scoreless first period, the Knights (9-2) got on the board in the sixth minute of the second as Vit netted a pass from first-year forward Jack Ceglarski. Following a Golden Flyers goal that tied the game 1-1 three minutes later, Brickler put Geneseo back on top with his first tally in the 12th minute. First-years Derek Stahl and Stephen Collins earned assists on the goal as the Knights led 2-1 heading into the second intermission.
The teams played a scoreless third period until the final five minutes of regulation. Brickler put one past Nazareth goaltender Ed Zdolshek during a power play on passes from sophomore Matt Solomon and junior Ryan Stanimir. Zdolshek finished the day with 26 saves.
Late in the third, Nazareth (1-9-1) scored to make the game 3-2 but the Knights would move on to their fifth-straight victory.
Junior goaltender Bryan Haude stopped 21 shots in the game to improve to 7-1 on the season.
The Knights don't suit up again until after the New Year, hosting Franklin Pierce on Jan. 10 at Wilson Ice Center.
