Lodie Tallies Knights Only Goal In 1-0 Victory Against SUNY Poly

UTICA, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team came away with a 1-0 victory over the SUNY Polytechnic Institute Wildcats this afternoon, with Aidan Lodie scoring the Knights lone goal. The Knights move to 5-3-1 overall and sit at 2-1-0 in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The game remained scoreless well into the first half before the Knights secured the 1-0 lead. Evan Zavalo connected with Aidan Lodie on a long cross to the opposite side of the field, where Lodie was able to get his head on it for the Knights only goal of the game.
  • The Knights were relentless to open the second half, with Eric Carnes and Feranc Bagi both putting up incredible shots in the opening minutes but ultimately denied by the Wildcats goalkeeper.
  • The Knights held SUNY Poly to just two shots on goal the entire game, taking home the 1-0 win against the Wildcats.
QUICK FACTS:
  • Aidan Lodie scored the lone goal for the Knights and his second of the season.
  • Max Crothall remained strong in net making two saves and securing his second shutout of the season.
  • The Knight outshot the Wildcats 17-7, putting five on net.
