GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's volleyball team closed out the Bengal Challenge on Saturday, falling to Rochester before answering with a four-set win over Buffalo State to move to 5-6 on the season.
Geneseo vs Rochester
- The opening set went back and forth throughout, with Geneseo cutting the deficit to 24-23 late before Rochester closed it out 26-24.
- Geneseo stayed within a point midway through the second set behind a service run from Gianna Lucchi, but the Yellowjackets pulled away down the stretch, closing it out 25-20.
- The third set followed a similar pattern, with Geneseo trading points before Rochester finished on top, 25-23.
Geneseo vs Buffalo State
- Geneseo built an early cushion in the opener, closing the set out at 25-19.
- Buffalo St. answered in the second, pulling ahead in the middle of the set and cruising to a 25-17 win.
- Geneseo regained control in the third, trading points into the mid-teens before pulling away late for a 25-22 win.
- The fourth set stayed close through the first half before Geneseo's serving, led by McKenna Callari, pulled the set away, closing out the match 25-19.
