GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's tennis team opened up its 2026 campaign at Oswego on Tuesday afternoon, and came away with a 7-0 sweep.
The Knights were dominant in doubles play, earning the win in all three spots.
Natalie Pipes and
JoAnn Catalano picked up the win at first doubles with a decisive 6-2 victory, while
Samantha Rava and
Rachel Molloy followed suit in second doubles with a 6-3 win.
Lauren Levatino and
Talia Wutz secured the sweep in doubles action with a 7-5 win at third doubles.
Geneseo cruised through singles action to secure the 7-0 victory. Reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year,
Natalie Pipes, led the way at first singles with a 6-2 6-3 victory, while doubles teammate Catalano went on to win easily at sixth singles 6-0 6-1. Rava battled out a close second set victory to earn the point at second singles, 6-1 7-5, while Molloy earned a 6-1 6-0 win at third singles. Empire 8 Rookie of the Year,
Lauren Levatino, earned the win at fourth singles 6-4 6-1, and Wutz pulled out the 6-0 6-4 victory at fifth singles.
The Knights will continue action on the road this Thursday, traveling to Cortland to take on the Red Dragons.
