GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo finished the 2025-26 year as the 30th ranked Division III school in the country in the Learfield Directors Cup, marking the 10th-straight top-35 finish in the last 10 seasons for the Knights. The Learfield Directors' Cup measures the overall excellence of intercollegiate athletic programs across the nation.
COMPLETE NCAA DIVISION III LEARFIELD DIRECTORS' CUP STANDINGS
The Knights have compiled 558.50 points to place 30th among the Division III institutions in the nation. Geneseo is the third highest New York institution, and third-highest public institution. The Knights were led in the spring by the men's track and field team, who earned a program-best fourth-place finish at NCAA's to pick up 80 points for the Knights, while the women's team tacked on 16.5 points in 55th place.
Geneseo earned 270 points in the winter, with 144 points coming from men's and women's indoor track and field, who both placed seventh overall. Men's swimming and diving added 55 points by finishing 19th overall, while the women's team chipped in 46 points with a 28th place finish. Women's basketball rounded out the winter teams in NCAA competition, earning 33 points for reaching the NCAA Tournament.
In the fall season, men's and women's cross country led the way with a combined 142.0 points as the men's team finished as the National Runner-Up, and the women's team finished 22nd. Field hockey and men's soccer then combined for 50 points after both teams won the Empire 8 Tournament and reached NCAA's.
The Knights highest ever recorded finish in the Director's Cup came in the 2017-18 season, where they placed 11th. For the full press release from NACDA, click here.
