GENESEO, NY: The SUNY Geneseo softball team swept Hartwick on Sunday afternoon, earning a 7-0 shutout in game one and a decisive 12-4 victory in game two on Senior Day. The Knights now improve to 24-9 overall and 15-3 in Empire 8 play. Geneseo honored its five seniors,

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Geneseo came out strong in game one, scoring four runs on five hits in the first three innings. In the fourth, Nadzan ripped a two-RBI double to left-center to score Sylvanus and Lauren Babich to give the Knights a 6-0 advantage.
- The bats were silent in the fifth, but in the sixth inning Babich drilled an RBI triple to right to extend Geneseo's lead. Gabriella Petroski shut Hartwick down, allowing the Knights to secure a 7-0 win in the opener.
- Geneseo carried its early momentum into the second game, scoring four runs across the first two innings. Hartwick responded with a two-RBI single up the middle, but the Knights answered with two more runs in the third, highlighted by a solo shot to center from Molly Griffin.Â
- The Hawks added a pair of runs in the fifth on a single smoked down the third base line, but Geneseo broke the game open in the bottom half. Smith and Fraas each delivered RBI singles, and Babich stayed hot at the plate, crushing a two-RBI double to left-center to give the Knights a 10-4 lead.
- Geneseo added two more in the sixth to cap a 12-4 victory in game two.
QUICK FACTS:
- Fraas scored three runs on the day to set the new program record for career runs scored at 138, breaking the record of 137 set by Hillary Gangemi '00 and Jill Almansberger '02.
- Nadzan went 6-8 on the day with five runs scored and three RBIs.
- Geneseo totaled nine extra-base hits on the day with six doubles, two triples, and one home run.
- Petroski tossed seven scoreless innings in game one for her sixth shutout of the season.
- Bucci earned the win in game two after throwing the first five innings.
