Men's Basketball Falls at Nazareth

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team couldn't pull out a tough road win on Saturday afternoon, falling to Nazareth 79-69. The Knights fall to 12-9 overall and 8-4 in Empire 8 play with the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Jackson Casey got the Knights going early, draining a pair of three's in the first three minutes to put them ahead 8-5. However, Geneseo fell cold and found themselves trailing 21-10 halfway through the first half.
  • Trailing by as many as 14 points, the Knights went on a big run to close out the half powered by a pair of shots from deep by Jaiyden Jones. Josh Garelle finished off the strong end to the first half with a pair of free throws with one second left to make it a six point game heading to the locker room.
  • Geneseo came out hot to start the second half, scoring six unanswered points to take a lead. Once again, the Golden Flyers defense had the answer and put the Knights behind. Geneseo made a push to comeback late, but couldn't close the gap and ultimately fell 79-69.
