GENESEO, NY: The No.12 SUNY Geneseo men's hockey team downed the Chatham Cougars 7-5 in the UCHC semifinal game, advancing to the championship game against the Utica Pioneers. The Knights continue forward, moving to 18-7-1 on the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Dakota Zarudny got the Knights on the board at 18:10, ripping a shot from the top of the zone, getting the pass from Payne Gatewood. Alex Dameski added one of his own with 11 left to play, after Gatewood connected with him in the slot for an easy shot over the goalie's glove.
- Chatham opened the second period with a powerplay goal, but their momentum didn't last long. Sterling Wolters answered back a minute later with a slapshot from the blue line, making it 3-1.
- The Knights added two more back-to-back goals starting with Filip Wiberg finding Cameron Ricotta in front of the net for a one-timer at 7:20. Sean Melso added another on a Geneseo power-play after he cranked a slapshot, with assists coming from Wiberg and Panchisin to make it 5-1. Chatham managed to sneak in two more goals before the end of the second to make it 5-3.
- Dameski added another goal just 38 seconds into the third after Gatewood was able to break up a play in the Cougar's zone, giving Dameski a wide-open lane to score the teams 6th goal.
- Chatham added two more, but Jack McDonald chipped one in over the leg of the goaltender at 11:10 after getting a pass thru traffic from Sam Beaulne. The Knights held strong, playing the final two minutes 6-on-4 after a call late in the third. The Knights advance to the UCHC Championship with a 7-5 win over Chatham.
