FREDONIA, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo men's cross country team won the team title at the Fredonia Kara Hall Memorial Invitational, topping Ithaca 43-78 in the 8k race.
Sean Verbosky led the way for Geneseo in fifth place, finishing in 26:27.2. Ian Zehnder, Milo Poerner, Brian Guiheen, and Henry Nilsen followed him across in sixth through ninth, running 26:30.8, 26:32.0, 26:34.1, and 26:37.9 to put all five Geneseo scorers inside the top 11. Sam Viglione and Mario Verruto served as displacers, finishing 13th and 19th in 26:51.1 and 27:07.2.
Geneseo's top five runners finished within 11 seconds of one another, the tightest spread of any team in the 13-team field.
The Knights are next in action on October 16 at the Mike Woods Invitational, which they'll host at Letchworth State Park. FULL RESULTS
