GENEVA, N.Y – The SUNY Geneseo women's soccer traveled to No. 9 William Smith and put up a tough battle, but couldn't pull out the win and fell 1-0.  Geneseo moves to 0-2-3 after the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo's defense held strong throughout the entire first half, not allowing a single goal.
• Ella Yartym had two close shots mid-way through the first half, but neither were able to sneak past the goalkeeper.
• William Smith was able to score early in the second half, putting them up 1-0.
• Even with great play from the defense and some good looks on the net, Geneseo couldn't rally, and the game ended 0-1.

QUICK FACTS:

• Ella Yartym finished the game with three shots on goal. Abby Dunnigan and Carly Chupick also registered shots on goal.
• Emily McLouth played all 90 minutes in net and secured four saves; she is now one away from 20 on the season.
