GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's basketball team saw its season come to an end on Saturday afternoon, as they fell in the Empire 8 quarterfinals at Brockport by a score of 87-66. The Knights finish the year with an overall record of 9-17.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Geneseo started out strong offensively, scoring 12 points in the first five minutes and taking a 12-8 lead. Highlighting the early run was sophomore point guard Jackson Casey, who dropped in a pair of three-point shots.
• Brockport led by as many as eight points with a 32-24 advantage with six minutes left in the first half, but Geneseo found its rhythm on offense to close it out and only trailed by five at 41-36 going into the second half. Trevor Hofer led the Knights in the first half with 13 points.
• Geneseo quickly cut the lead down to two points after a three from Robert Pericolosi early in the second half, but the Knights were unable to bring it back to a one possession game and ultimately fell, 87-66.

QUICK FACTS:

• Josh Garelle led the team in scoring, dropping 22 points on 8-10 shooting from the field.
• Hofer tallied 15 points and Pericolosi recorded 14, while Garelle led the team in rebounding with 9 and Casey chipped in seven assists.
