GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo women's basketball team concluded regular season action on Tuesday evening at Brockport, falling by a score of 75-62. The loss drops the Knights to 19-6 overall and 14-2 in the Empire 8, while Brockport finishes at 22-3 and 15-1 in conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Knights found themselves in an early hole, trailing 11-6 just over four minutes into the action. However, the Knights quickly responded with a 9-0 run to take the lead at 15-11. Grace Galgano led the charge for Geneseo, scoring seven of the nine points.
- Geneseo trailed by five points midway through the second quarter, but once again had the ability to flip the momentum and went on to lead by three at halftime.
- Early in the third quarter, Geneseo extended the lead to five points at 47-42 after Kiley Snow drained a three off a pass from Mackenzie Reigle. Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles came up with some clutch plays down the stretch of the third quarter and were able to take a four-point lead into the final 10 minutes.
- The Knights were unable to put together a run and start a comeback in the fourth quarter, and ultimately fell 75-62.
