HOW IT HAPPENED:
- James Burton opened the scoring for Geneseo with a three on their second possession, then Colin Gentile converted a layup and a three on the following two possessions to give the Knights a quick 8-6 lead. - Later in the first half, the Tigers went on a run to go up 47-39 with three minutes left to play. However, Geneseo's defense was able to lock them up and keep RIT off the scoreboard for the closing minutes, allowing the Knights to close the gap to 47-45 at halftime.
- After back-and-forth action for most of the second half, Geneseo was trailing 78-75 with just a minute left to play. Sebastian Pacheco was able to make a layup with 38 seconds on the clock, and then come up with a steal on the defensive end to give the Knights a chance to win. Robert Pericolosi drew a foul near the top of the key with just over a second left to play, and made one of two free throws to force overtime.
